Our Business and Supply Chains

Sutton Man and Van provides transport, removals, and associated logistics services. Our activities are primarily based within the United Kingdom and rely on a network of employees, subcontracted drivers and porters, vehicle hire and maintenance providers, fuel suppliers, equipment suppliers, and other professional and support services.

We recognise that certain sectors and geographies carry higher risks of modern slavery. We therefore consider potential risks associated with the sourcing of vehicles, parts, equipment, and temporary labour, and we aim to work only with reputable suppliers who share our values and standards.

Supplier Standards and Audits

We expect all suppliers, contractors, and business partners to operate in compliance with applicable labour, employment, and human rights legislation and to actively oppose modern slavery in all its forms. As part of our procurement and supplier management processes, Sutton Man and Van:

Requires suppliers to confirm that they do not use forced, bonded, or involuntary labour and that they do not engage in human trafficking or exploitative recruitment practices.

Assesses new and existing suppliers for modern slavery risks, prioritising higher risk categories for enhanced review.

Reserves the right to conduct audits or request evidence of compliance, including policies, training records, and other documentation that demonstrates effective controls over labour practices.

Will take appropriate action where non-compliance is identified, which may include requiring corrective action plans, suspending business relationships, or terminating contracts.

Reporting Concerns and Whistleblowing Channels

Sutton Man and Van encourages a culture of openness and accountability. We expect all employees, workers, suppliers, and partners to raise concerns about any issue or suspicion of modern slavery in any part of our business or supply chains as soon as possible.

Concerns can be raised confidentially to line managers, senior management, or through established internal reporting routes. Reports will be treated seriously, investigated promptly, and handled as sensitively as possible. Sutton Man and Van does not tolerate victimisation or retaliation against any person who raises a concern in good faith, even if it is not substantiated upon investigation.

Training and Awareness

We are committed to building awareness of modern slavery risks among our workforce and relevant contractors. Sutton Man and Van seeks to ensure that managers and key staff involved in recruitment, procurement, and supplier management understand how to identify potential indicators of modern slavery and how to respond to concerns.

Responsibility for overseeing this Modern Slavery Statement and related policies sits with the senior management of Sutton Man and Van. They are responsible for ensuring that appropriate systems, controls, and reviews are in place and that actions are implemented effectively.

We monitor our practices on an ongoing basis and review incidents, supplier performance, and feedback from employees and other stakeholders to improve our approach. This statement will be reviewed at least annually and updated where necessary to reflect our evolving risk profile, legal requirements, and our commitment to continual improvement.
